It’s a shame that few tourists see Queens, the largest borough of the city, as well as its most ethnically diverse.
In downtown Flushing, with its overwhelming East Asian population, you will probably feel like you are on the crowded streets of Hong Kong. Passing a Muslim mosque, we enter another part of this fascinating neighborhood. In this large Indian immigrant community, we will enter a glorious Hindu temple. The appropriate exclamation to voice here is "Oh my Gods!", as Hinduism is a polytheistic religion. In Kissena Park, you might see bicyclists racing by on the only velodrome in the city. In Flushing Meadow Park we’ll ride on miles of bike paths around the remnants of two World’s Fairs, the unique Unisphere, and the controversial Arthur Ashe statute. You’ll even have a rare chance to visit the extraordinary Panorama of New York City. With 895,000 individual structures precisely located in its 9,335 square foot area, it is the largest 3-D urban model in the United States! Here again, you may well exclaim, "Oh my Gods!"
